Cost of Care & Billing

In adult family homes, the AFH will be billed for private client delegation services unless prior arrangements have been made.

 

Assessments and reassessments are typically paid for by individual clients/families, however at times the AFH will cover this cost.

For private pay clients, delegation services are billed at a flat rate for initial and ongoing delegation visits. Phone calls, emails and text communication are included in the flat rate for delegation. New caregiver delegations between 90-day visits are billed separately.

Medicaid client assessments are completed by DSHS social workers. Delegation services are billed to the State and clients and facilities are not billed.

Home Care Agency Billing: Agency will be billed for private client delegation services unless prior arrangements have been made. Delegation services are provided by the hour with 1 hour minimum for in person visits and 0.25 hour minimum for phone calls and virtual meetings (ZOOM, Facetime meetings).​ Travel time and documentation time are also billable by the quarter hour.

Care Management Billing: Services are billed by the hour with home visits being billed for a minimum of 1 hour. Other services are billed by the quarter hour (phone calls, provider and family communication, travel and documentation time).
